Irrespective of the number of security personnel projected to the DGR, the decision of number of guards required to be deployed should be in consultation with the principal employer and the proprietor/ director of the agency sponsored by the DGR. Basic guidelines for deployment of security staff are as below:-
- For every 20 guards, one supervisor should be recruited.
- For every 50 guards, in addition to supervisors, one Assistant Security Officer is required.
- For 101- 150 guards, in addition to all above one Security Officer is required.
- For 151- 200 guards, in addition to all above one Senior Security Officer is required.
- Beyond 201 guards, in addition to all above one Chief security officer is required.
- For guards strength beyond 150 one safai karmachari and one office runner will be authorized
- In all contracts above 10 guards, an accounts clerk will be authorized.
- Where ever there is dispersed deployment such as isolated posts like mobile towers, pipelines etc. One additional man will be sanctioned over and above the requirement per post.
