ESM are sponsored for following self Employment Schemes through DGR :-
(a) Ex-Servicemen Coal Loading and Transportation Scheme - Only for Class I Commissioned Officer.
(b) Tipper attachment Scheme for widows and disabled ex-servicemen.
(c) Allotment of Oil Product Agencies under 8% Defence quota for defence personnel.
(d) Allotment of LPG Distribution ships under RGGLVY Scheme under 25% CC Quota for defence Personnel.
(e) Sponsorship of ESM (O) for COCO Operatorship - Only for Class I Commissioned Officer.
(f) Allotment of Class V B Army Surplus Vehicle to Ex-Servicemen/widows.
(g) Allotment of Mother Dairy Milk Booths and Fruits & Vegetables (Safal) Shops-only for JCOs & ORs.
(h) Management of CNG Stations in NCR- Only for Class I Commissioned Officer.
|Can an ex-servicemen register for more than one scheme under DGR?|
No. An ESM can register for only one scheme under DGR.
|What is the waiting period for availing benefits of the scheme?
The general waiting period for all schemes is from six months to one year except for coal Loading and Transportation Scheme where the waiting period is approximately seven to nine years after registration for the scheme in DGR.
|Can I be assured of rehabilitation after registration with DGR?|
The role of DGR is restricted to sponsoring of eligible EX-servicemen to the prospective Principal Employers as per seniority. The responsibility for selection of Personnel/Allotment of concessionaire /Allocation of work rests etc. with Principal Employer concerned.
|What are the schemes/facilities available to war widows and widows of ESM through DGR?|
The widows may avail of the following schemes/facilities through DGR :-
(a) Tipper Attachment Schemes linked to the ESM Coal Loading and Transportation Schemes.
(b) Issue of eligibility certificate for allotment of Oil Products Agencies under 8% Defence Quota.
(c) Issue of eligibility certificate for allotment LPG dealership/distribution ship under Rajiv Gandhi Gramin LPG Vitarak (RGGLVY) Scheme under 25% CC Quota.
(d) Allotment of Class V B Army Surplus Vehicles.

The following schemes are available for retired JCOs & ORs.
(a)Allotment of Mother Dairy Milk Booth and Safal (Fruit & Vegetables) Shops in Delhi & NCR region.
(b) Allotment of LPG dealership/distributorship to disabled JCOs/ORs under RGGLVY & 8% OPA.
(c) Allotment of Class V B Army surplus Vehicles.
(d) Allotment of Oil product Agencies under 8% Defence Quota for war disabled/disabled JCOs/Ors (disability should be attributable to Military Service).

Yes. The following schemes/benefits can be availed by dependants of ESM :-
(a) Allotment of Oil Product Agencies under 8% Defence quota.
(b) Allotment of LPG dealership/distribution ship under RGGLVY.
(c) Allotment of Safal (Fruits & Vegetables) Shops through Mother Dairy.
|What are the eligibility conditions for registering in the DGR?|
Eligibility conditions for retired officers, JCOs & ORs and widows vary from scheme to scheme and are given in detail against respective schemes in DGR website dgrindia.com.
|Can an Ex-servicemen register with DGR schemes anytime after retirement?|
ESM have to register within five to six years of retirement/discharge from service depending on the scheme opted and subject to their fulfilling the age criteria specified for the scheme.
|What are the documents required to be submitted by retired JCOs/ORs for registering in DGR Scheme?|
For all schemes these details are given on the DGR Website. However, in general the following documents are required to be submitted by the retired JCOs & ORs during the time of Registration :-
(a) Copy of Discharge Book.
(b) Copy of Pension Payment Order (PPO).
(c) Copy of ESM Identity Card issued by ZSWO/Dte of Sainik Welfare (State).
(d) Passport size photograph.
