All retired Ex-Serviceman are not eligible to apply. Only a disabled Ex-Serviceman who’s disability is 20 % or more and attributable to Military service is eligible to apply under defence category quota. Also certain other conditions as laid down by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas are required to be fulfilled.

What are other conditions laid down by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas for applying under 8 % Defence Category Quota?
The following conditions are laid down by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. The fulfillment of these conditions is a must to become eligible for issue of eligibility certificate for allotment of oil product agency. (a) Nationality : Indian (b) Age : Min 21 Years, Max 60 Years (for RGGLVY and LPG only), Dependants age between 21 and 30 years. (c) Education : Minimum Matric or equivalent (for LPG and RGGLVY only). (d) Residence : Any district in the same area where agency is located. (e) Should be the resident of the place advertised (for RGGLVY only)

What are the reasons for rejection of applicants for allotment of Oil Product Agency under 8 % Defence Quota Scheme and Rajiv Gandhi Gramin LPG Vitran Yojna (RGGLVY)?
(a) Applicant’s age is below 21years or more than 60 years (RGGLVY only).
(b) Applicant unable to submit Matriculation or equivalent certificate (LPG & RGGLVY scheme only)
(c) Applicant without ESM/Widow identity card issued by KSB/RSB/ZSB.
(d) Lack of proof of posthumous gallantry award given to demised ESM.
(e) Lack of proof of ESM of having died in war.
(f) Lack of proof of ESM having died in harness during peace due to attributable causes.
(g) Relinquishment Deed/Affidavit not submitted as per format.
(h) Disability not attributable to Military Service.
(j) Disability only aggravated due to Military Service.
(k) ESM relinquishing right by executing relinquishment deed in favour of dependant.
(l) Photographs not attached.
(m) PPO copy not attached.
(n) Copy of Newspaper cutting not attached and location not under DC/CC. Applicant not a resident of location advertised (for RGGLVY only).
(p) Able-bodied ESM applying.
(q) Widows/dependants of those Defence personnel who were though disabled due to attributable causes but have died after retirement.
(r) NoK and not the dependant applying for Eligibility Certificate.
(s) Dependant not within permissible age i.e. minimum 21 years and maximum 30 years.
(t) Lack of proof of date of birth.
(u) Photocopy of discharge book not attached.
(v) Documents are not attested by.
