No, dependents except widows cannot apply.

Ex- Servicemen/widows can apply through respective Zila Sainik boards. Service personnel can apply through their respective units.

Ex-Servicemen/widows approach Zila Sainik board and service 5-service pe/5 to DGR for collection of forms and issue of authority letter for security deposit.

What are the documents to be submitted?
The documents to be submitted along with application are: - (i)Application form in duplicate with photos attested by ZSB/OC unit. (ii)Affidavit duly notarized with photocopy (specimen supplied with application form). (iii)Discharge certificate / retirement order in duplicate duly attested. (iv)Security deposit as Bank draft in favour of Armed Forces Flag Day Fund payable at New Delhi.

What are the vehicles available for release under the scheme?
List of vehicles is provided by DGR on yearly basis.

What is the price of such vehicle?
The prices are based on the price list provided by MGO’s Branch to DGR.

What is the security deposit?
The security deposit for different class of vehicles is as follows: Rs. 1000/- for motorcycle Rs. 3000/- for jeep/jonga/Truck/1Ton Nissan and TATA Rs. 8000/- for Lorry 3 Ton LPT/TMB/ 4 Ton TATA and Shaktiman LPT Breakdown / Tractor KARAZ / LPT Bus Body.

Is change of depot / type of vehicle permissible after registration?
The option for depot and vehicle applied cannot be changed after registration. Individual can seek for refund of security and cancellation of his earlier registration and apply again a fresh with new security deposit.

How is Security Deposit released?
Amount of Security deposit will be released after the allotted vehicle has been registered with the Regional Transport Authority. This is to be done within six months from the date of collection of the vehicle. The application is to be routed through Zila Sainik Board.

Can Security be released even without vehicle being registered with RTA?
No, Security thus deposited cannot be released. It will be forfeited.

What is the minimum / maximum period for release of such vehicles?
The minimum period is six month. The maximum period depends upon the availability of vehicle in the particular depot. However, the release of vehicle is done by MGO’s Branch (OS-4H) on first come first serve basis as per the seniority allotted by DGR.

What are the reasons or observations for non registration of Application?
The common reason or observations for non-registration of Class V B vehicles applications are: - (a).The application is not routed through Rajya / Zila Sainik Board as the application is an Ex – Servicemen and not a serving person. (b).The application is not submitted in the prescribed format. (c).The application form is not verified and endorsed at recommendation column by Security , Rajya Sainik Board / Zila Sainik Board / OC unit. (d).Both / one application for is / are not accompanied by passport size photograph duly attested by Secretary, Rajya Sainik Board / Zila Sainik Board / OC unit. (e).The application form is not accompanied by proper affidavit on non judicial stamp paper duly attested by Secretary, Rajya Sainik Board/Zila Sainik Board/OC unit. (f).Para six of the affidavit is imcomplete, where in the clause “ In the event of non-registration with ix months from the date of its purchase with the RTA, the amount of security deposit, deposited by me may be forfeited to the Government of India” is omitted. (g).Details of security deposit viz. Amount, account No, and Name of the Post office have not been filled in the application forms and recommendation column by Security Rajya / Zila Sainik Board / OC Unit. (h).The application is not forwarded along with the Post Office security deposit pass book duly pledged in favour of Dte Gen Resettlement. (i).These specimen signatures of the application have not been done on the affidavit. (j).Class / Type of vehicle is not mentioned in the application. (k).Name of the Vehicles not mentioned in the application. Application having more than one depot will not be entertained. (l).Address given in application and Affidavit is not tallying with the address given in discharge certificate / discharge book. (m).In case of duplicate discharge book/certificate, application is to be endorsed on the top in REF INK Security, Rajya Sainik Board/ Zila Sainik Board. (n).One / two despondent signature(s) not made by the applicant in the affidavit. (o).Photo copy of security deposit pass book not duly attested by Secretary, Rajya Sainik Board / Zila Sainik Board / OC unit.
