CONCESSIONS AND BENEFITS EXTENDED BY STATE GOVTS/UTs TO RETIRED AND SERVING DEFENCE PERSONNEL
TRIPURA
Concessions & Benefits : General
1. Stipend of Rs. 150/- p.m. to ex-Servicemen trainees in ITIs.
2. 2 percent reservation in each of the Group ‘A’, ‘B’, ‘C’ and ‘D’ posts. Recruitment rules amended in respect of age and educational qualification of ex-Servicemen. Provision to carry forward unfilled vacancies for one year exists.
3. Rent Control Act and Land Tenancy Act have been amended to facilitate resumption of land/houses be ex-Servicemen.
4. Free medical aid in Govt Hospitals
5. Monthly maintenance allowances of Rs. 800/- p.m. to world War II veterans who are not in receipt of any type of pension.
6. Free legal aid for settlement of disputes.
7. Cash grant to Gallantry Award Winners. (Appendix ‘E’)
8. Reservation of seats for children of Defence Personnel/ex-Servicemen in Professional/Technical institutions.*
9. Exemption of tuition fee upto class XII for dependents of ex-Servicemen. In addition, costs of textbooks purchased for higher studies is also reimbursed.
10. Grant of yearly stipend/book grants to school going children of ex-Servicemen studying in class Ito XII. Besides, uniform grant is given to wards to ex-Servicemen upto class XII.
11. Financial assistance to ex-Servicemen/Widows for self-employment ventures.
12. Interest subsidy on loans taken from Nationalised banks for self-employment ventures.
13. Priority for allotment of land to ex-Servicemen after SC and ST categories.
14. Grant of special leave upto 15 days to ex-Servicemen in posts for replacement/repaid of their artificial limbs.
15. Equation civil service trades for re-employment of ex-Servicemen.
16. Relaxation of age limit for re-employment of ex-Servicemen in Govt Services.
17. Sponsoring power to Secretary, RSB, Tripura for re-employment of ex-Servicemen.
18. Relaxation to ex-servicemen on the matter of educational qualification when they seek re-employment in Police and Jail Deptt of the State Govt.
19. Secretary, RSB co-opted member of the selection committee for interview in case of ex-Servicemen to be interviewed for State Govt undertaking.
20. Educational concessions.*
21. 5 seats for ex-Servicemen for Basic Teachers Training Courses.
22. Exemption from production of citizenship certificate by ex-Servicemen.
23. SEMFEX I, II & III Schemes introduced in the States.
24. Coaching classes for Sainik School Aspirant Boys, total seats –7.
25. At concessional rates computer training given to ex-Servicemen, widows and dependent son/daughter by RSB office.
26. Reservation for national permit for ex-servicemen.
27. Route permit in State for ex-Servicemen.
28. Allotment of House – sites to war widows.
29. Marriage grant to the dependent daughter of deceased ex-servicemen on the basis of income.
30. 10 percent reservation of House-sites/Houses.
31. Financial assistance to widows of ex-Servicemen at the time of death of their husband Rs. 500/- to Rs. 3,000/- and financial assistance Rs. 100/- to ex-servicemen and widows for maintenance of their family/medical treatment.
32. Ex-Servicemen are inducted at suitable levels of State Police Force.
33. Stipend of Rs. 150/- p.m. to ex-servicemen under pre cum post release for their training.
34. Ex-Servicemen/widows have been exempted from payment of House Tax within Agartala Municipality.
35. Rs. 50,000/- for the armed forces and CPMF personnel who are killed in extremist violence while on duty in the State.
36. Maintenance allowance of widows Rs. 500/- p.m. who are not in receipt of any pension and without any age bar.
War Widows/Dependents Of Those Killed/Disabled In War Including Casualties Of Op Pawan & Meghdoot
37. Govt service to one dependent.
38. One sewing machine for self-employment.
39. Free medical treatment.
40. Reservation in Medical and Engg Institutions.
41. Free education upto class XII.
42. Exemption on house tax.
43. Allotment of Agricultural land/cash in lieu.
44. Allotment of semi pucca building/cash in lieu.
45. Immediate relief of widows/Next of Kin amounting to Rs. 2,500/- from Amalgamated Special Fund.
OP VIJAY
46. Ex-gratia of Rs. 2 Lakhs to the next of kin of those killed in action and a permanent job under the State Govt.
47. Ex-gratia of Rs. 1 lakh to the disabled and rendered unfit for Military Service due to disability attributable to Military service are given a permanent job under the State Govt.
48. Family of those killed in action will be provided a house.
49. Family of those who are landless and killed in action will be allotted a homestead land.
50. The children of those killed in action will be given the facilities of free education upto college level.
