Kendriya Sainik Board:
Concessions & Benefits : General
1. Stipend of Rs. 1,000/- p.m. to ex-Servicemen Trainees in ITIs.
2. Reservation in Group ‘D’ posts – 10%, Forest Guards – 10%, Forest Watchers – 5% and 25% In NCC Department (for the Post of Lascars, Drivers, Watchmen) Basic Service 10%, Live Stock Inspector course – 5%
3. Reservation of 10% in allotment of Plots/Industrial Sheds.
4. Land Tenancy Act has been amended for resumption of land.
5. 7% reservation in allotment of house sites and houses for ex-Servicemen/Widows developed by State Housing Board.
6. Free Medical Aid in Government Hospitals for ex-Servicemen Pensioners including Officers. 14 twelve bedded wards at Taluk Headquarters Hospitals and 10 beds in three TB Sanatoria have been reserved for ex-Servicemen.
7. Free Legal aid for settlement of disputes.
8. Cash grant, Cash in lieu of land and Annuity to Gallantry Award Winners. (Appendix ‘E’)
9. Maintenance Grant of Rs. 900/- p.m. to disabled ex-Servicemen undergoing training at Queen Marys’ Technical Institute, Kirkee.
10. 16 Sainik Rest Houses in the State. (Appendix ‘C’)
11. Reservation of seats in Professional colleges.*
12. Grant of Rs. 5,000/- for marriage of one daughter of ex-Servicemen/Widow.
13. Reimbursement of house tax to widows of ex-Servicemen pensioners, war widows, war disabled and Gallantry Award Winners for self occupation.
14. Financial assistance of Rs. 3,000/- to widows on death of their husband.
15. Monthly grant of Rs. 150/- as relief to deserving ex-Servicemen, their families and dependents of deceased personnel.
16. Scholarship/Stipend to children of ex-Servicemen studying in vocational, professional, computer and technical course.
17. Life Time Grant of Rs. 500/- p.m. to World War Veterans and Rs. 300/- pm to their widows who have served during WW and who are not in receipt of pension/gratuity.
18. Life Time Grant of Rs. 300/- to totally blinded ex-Servicemen/widows provided they are not in receipt of any assistance from other sources.
19. Monthly payment of Rs. 300/- for life to ex-Servicemen suffering from Leprosy, TB, Paralysis and monthly payment of Rs. 500/- for life to ex-Servicemen suffering from Cancer.
20. Financial assistance upto Rs. 20,000/- to ex-Servicemen for major surgeries.
21. 50 percent interest subsidy on loan ( upto 2.50 lakhs) from Nationalised Banks to ex-Servicemen/widows of ex-Servicemen.
22. Exemption from payment of tuition fee by children of ex-Servicemen in all grades of Educational Institutions including professional colleges and institutions.
23. Payment of Rx. 500/- p.m. to inmates of Nimmadhi Illam for destitute ex-Servicemen/widows at Chennai.
24. War Service Incentive of Rs. 750/- p.a. to parents who had sent their only son/Daughter to the Armed Forces and Rs. 1,000/- to those who have sent their more than one son/daughter
25. Subsidy of Rs. 50,000/- for construction of Industrial Sheds/purchase of plots to ex-Servicemen.
26. Priority in providing electricity for pump sets.
27. Exemption from examination fees, hospital fee and court fee stamp.
28. Age relaxation for appointment to State Government Service upto 53 years for OBC/SC & 48 years for others.
29. Financial Assistance upto Rs. 1,500/- p.m. to ex-Servicemen towards purchase of hearing aids. Spectacles, artificial dentures and artificial limbs.
30. Grant of Rs. 5,000/- for alleviation of distress due to fire, flood and other natural calamities.
31. Pocket money at the rate of Rs. 20/- per day to ex-Servicemen undergoing inpatient treatment in the TB Sanatorium/cancer Institute/Leprosaria
32. Transport charges to ex-Servicemen/TB/Leprosy patients of the Sanatorium to visit their homes periodically i.e. once in a year.
33. Matching grant of Rs. 100/- p.m. to the TB/Leprosy patients who are in receipt of MACF Grant from Indian Red Cross Society.
34. Gift articles worth of Rs. 500/- to Leprosy patients on the eve of Deepavali festival.
35. Subsidy of Rs. 1,200/- to the daughter of ex-Servicemen trained in the tailoring units run by Zila Sainik Board for owning a sewing machine.
36. Free sewing machine to widows of ex-Servicemen trained in the Tailoring embroidery
37. Automatic acceptance of equivalent of Military Trade to civil trades.
38. Maintenance of grant of Rs. 300/- p.m. for mentally retarded children of ex-Servicemen.
39. Entire educational expenses of orphan children of ex-Servicemen.
40. Educational concessions and book allowances.
41. Grant of Rs. 1,000/- for child for coaching to appear in Entrance Examination for professional courses and got admitted.
42. Scholarship to children of Defence Personnel killed or disabled in action, studying in academic, Technical/Professional/Vocational Courses beyond Higher Secondary stage.
43. Income Tax exemption for pension to winners of Gallantry Awards of Param Vir Chakra, Maha Vir Chakra, Vir Chakra, Ashoka Chakra, Kirti Chakra, Shaurya Chakra and Sena Medal/Nao Sena Medal/Vayu Sena Medal.
44. Allotment of Army surplus Vehicles, Oil Product Agencies, Unit Trust of India Agencies.
45. Air Travel Concessions to war widows/recipients of Param Vir Chakra, Ashoka Chakra, Maha Vir Chakra, Vir Chakra, Kirti Chakra and Shaurya Chakra and permanently disabled officers (Battle Casualties.)
46. Free passage to transport the bodies of officers and men of Armed Forces killed in war/insurgency operations/aid to civil power of died in harness by Indian Airlines.
47. Train travel concessions to war widows/recipients of Param Vir Chakra, Ashoka Chakra, Maha Vir Chakra, Vir Chakra, Kirti Chakra and Shaurya Chakra.
48. Full concession in installation charges and 50% concession in normal rental charges to Gallantry Award Winners, war widows and disabled soldiers for telephone facilities.

49. Uniform and Book allowances.
50. Reservation of 25 seats in Engineering Colleges and 2 seats in MBBS.
51. Employment to one dependent in relaxation of rules.

53. Ex-gratia grant of Rs. 20,000/- to NOK of those killed or totally disabled and double amputee and totally blind and Rs. 10,000/- for single amputee and one eye blind, deaf, loss of toes, fingers precluding employment and Rs. 5,000/- for burns, gun shot wounds, battle accidents, multiple compound fracture from Government of Tamil Nadu.
54. Outright grant of Rs. 30,000/- to the NOK of casualties from Amalgamated Fund.
55. Priority on assignment of land 3 acres of dry or 1.5 acres of wetland.
56. Priority – I for assignment of house sites.
57. 7% houses constructed by State Housing Board reserved for serving and retired personnel and widows.
58. Annual Maintenance Grant of Rs. 2,000/- to the NOK of Defence Personnel killed and to the personnel disabled in war/ war like operations for life time.
59. Daughter’s marriage grant of Rs. 10,000/-.
60. Housing Grant of Rs. 30,000/-.

62. Ex-gratia Grant of Rs. 5 lakhs to NOK from Kargil Defence Personnel Relief Fund.

64. Compassionate appointment to one family member in State Government jobs.
65. Free education upto Post-Graduate level to the children of the deceased.
