CONCESSIONS AND BENEFITS EXTENDED BY STATE GOVTS/UTs TO RETIRED AND SERVING DEFENCE PERSONNEL
NAGALAND
Concessions & Benefits : General
1. War Jagir Allowances*.
2. Cash grant to gallantry award winners. (Appendix ‘E’)
3. Ex-Servicemen belonging to state of Nagaland are exempted from paying of House Tax when under self-occupation.
4. Old age pension Rs. 100/- p.m.
5. II World War Veteran pension Rs. 300/- p.m.
6. Armed Forces Pension and pension equivalent of gratuity are ignored while fixing pay of re-employed ex-servicemen below officers rank under state Govt.
7. 5 percent reservation in Group ‘C’ and ‘D’ posts.
8. Lump sum grant of Rs. 1,000/- to orphan children of deceased servicemen.
9. Financial assistance to widows of ex-Servicemen at the time of death of their husband Rs. 1,000/-.
10. Induction of ex-Servicemen at suitable levels in State Police Force.
11. Payment of ration, canteen facilities and free medical facilities have been introduced to interior areas.
12. Reservation of ex-Servicemen. 2 percent in Industrial sheds and National permits, 5% jin Jai Jawan Stalls and 3.5% in fair Price shops.
13. Ex-gratia grant to next of kin of officers and JCOs/Ors who killed in action is Rs. 5,00,000/- and Rs. 3,00,000/- respectively. Grant to permanently disabled officers and JCOs/Ors is Rs. 3,00,000/- and 1,50,000/- respectively.
14. Providing free education including books and uniforms and full hostel charges to the children of those killed/permanent disabled in action studying from class I to class XII.
15. Immediate appointment to class III/Class posts to one of the dependents of those killed or permanently disabled in action. Disabled person himself is also eligible provided he is willing and capable to perform duty

17. Employment to class III/IV posts to one of the dependents of those killed or permanently disable in action. Disabled person himself is also eligible provided he is willing and capable to perform the duty.
